The need to create a festival of music of Igor Stravinsky in Ukraine arose a long time ago. One of the first the idea of the Stravinsky festival was supported in the interview by Honored Artist of Ukraine Bohodar Kotorovych. That’s how came about the festival «Stravinsky and Ukraine» in Lutsk, which was held at the base of Volyn Regional Philharmonic for 15 years. In 2016 the National Artist of Ukraine Ihor Blazhkov took part in it, the first performer of Stravinsky’s music in Ukraine and British film director Tony Palmer, who made a documentary about the composer «… Somewhere on the border».

However, it was very important to create an annual festival exactly in Ustyluh. The project «Uslyluh StravinskyFEST» won state support at the competition of the Government and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine «Small towns – big impressions». Thanks to the joint wish of the creators of the Museum and the state, a festival was launched to increase the attractiveness of the town Ustyluh as a territory associated with the name of the outstanding composer – Ihor Stravinsky.
